A vast river stretching out across the tundra and enclosing the
region of the Mushuau-nipi. Its width reaching five kilometers in
some places and rapids several kilometers long.
During the trip to the Mushuau-nipi, one can witness, far from
the routine of daily life, the forests of spruce suddenly disappearing
and, in their place, the tundra beginning to spread out towards
the horizon. The herds of caribou, the aurora borealis, the clear
skies, the silence unique to this northern region, and the intense
light all lead us into a state of profound bliss.
Many animal species share the life of this area. Among others,
the caribou, the arctic fox, the goose, the atlantic salmon, the
porcupine, and the eagle.
The grandeur of nature, proud and untamed, delights us with its
refusal to be mastered. Vulnerable to abrupt and rapid changes,
summer temperatures can vary between 5 and 20 degrees Celcius during
the day. The passage from rain to brilliant sunshine can also occur
just as suddenly.
